| Q01 |
Are you a member of WISA? If not, why not? |
| |
No, I am lapsed, no real reason not to be one at all. |
| Q02 |
What role do you think WISA has in the future of the Club/Trust? |
| |
A large one, WISA's independence has led the way in much of the clubs achievments and should continue to do so. |
| Q03 |
What personal qualities (other than professional skills,
and a capacity for hard work) do you have that the Dons Trust Board
needs? |
| |
A great ability to think outside of the box, combined with a youthful and contemporary outlook, something that is not currently represented. |
| Q04 |
What do you perceive the role of the Dons Trust to be? In
particular, what do you see its role to be in relation to the club?
What is the role of the members/owners? |
| |
Quite simply, the trust is in place to oversee the running of the club, it must also look to find ways of getting new members, and advertising the club to others in the community, whilst most importantly projecting a positive image. The duty of the members is to question everything, and the board should be accountable to this demand. |
| Q05 |
Have you been involved in any projects / organisations /
working parties or volunteer groups on behalf of the Club or the Dons
Trust? If so, what was your role and what did you achieve? If elected,
and bearing in mind the time consuming nature of the Dons Trust Board,
will you still carry on this work? |
| |
Yes, I have been a key member of the fundraising group over the last couple of years. This involved being immersed in several different projects, perhaps most notably last years 'Dinner with Dickie'.
I am very passionate about this commitment, and would most certainly carry on with the fundraising.
i am also a member of the WUP and am key in helping to solve issues and put together the publication. I have also been involved with other areas such as running the quiz nights at the club (which are now under brilliant new management, really worth going too) . I hope to keep as many of these things going in addition to duties on the board. (If I get elected)
|
| Q06 |
How will you get more people to volunteer and help out the
club? |
| |
I believe that the way to get more people to volunteer, is to convey more publically, the great spirit that resides in our volunteers and the spread the message about just how rewarding the process of volunteering for AFC Wimbledon/ The Don's Trust really is. |
| Q07 |
What are the biggest problems facing the Dons Trust? And
what three things would you suggest to make it more dynamic? |
| |
Due to the age of the majority of the board members, we face falling behind the times rather than changing with them. I feel that perhaps a burst of energy and invigoration will aide the enthusiasm of some of the longer standing board members. |
| Q08 |
Why do you believe you can put your views into practice and deliver on any promises you make? How much time do you have to devote to Trust matters? |
| |
Firstly I work a standard 40 hour week, anytime outside of that I will have to dedicate |
| Q09 |
Do you have any financial interests in the club, associated companies or Trust? If so, please could you specify? |
| |
NONE |
| Q10 |
If we are not promoted this season, do you think we should try to get a league place and / or go professional (i.e. take on full-time players) as soon as possible, whatever the cost (financial or otherwise)? Is fan ownership non-negotiable? |
| |
I personally believe that there is far too much talk/hearsay from people who have no experience on such issues.
There is no need to rush into any decision such as this. I feel that the time to move professional, must first begin on a stable financial plateau. Fan ownership, for me is non-negotiable.
|
| Q11 |
What schemes should / would you put in place to help reduce the club's debt? |
| |
To continue with the great fundraising efforts, but continue to look at income that is targeted away from the fanbase. |
| Q12 |
What action will you take if you feel the Club is committing itself to ventures it cannot afford? |
| |
To take such ventures under immediate review and if necessary, dispose of such. |
| Q13 |
If the Club makes a profit from FA Cup or Trophy runs, or from the sale of players, should that windfall be used to improve the infrastructure of the Club or be used to improve the playing squad? |
| |
Infrastructure |
| Q14 |
Do you see The Fans Stadium, Kingsmeadow, as a temporary or permanent home for AFC Wimbledon? |
| |
No, but it is applicable for current requirements. |
| Q15 |
What is your opinion on the possibility of a move to the Greyhound Stadium what would you do if elected to make it a reality? |
| |
I live I the real world, I feel there is no reality of this concept at this time |
| Q16 |
What will you do to improve communication between the Trust members and their board? |
| |
Firstly, having board members visible and approachable to fans, is something that needs to happen. As a fan's club, the concept of society is paramount. People must understand that the ongoings of the board are of upmost importance and the role of asking questions is a necessity
Secondly, the resurrection of the quaterly newsletter would be a wonderful thing, this should be planned out so that some sub-communities within the club should be represented ie. Youth
|
| Q17 |
Do you believe that the Trust should adopt a clear stance on issues such as Milton Keynes’ inclusion in the England 2018 World Cup bid, or do you think that the Trust should maintain a diplomatic silence and leave such issues to WISA? |
| |
I do, I think that the club should take a publically vocal stance to anything MK based, after all that's why we're here. To add to this WISA's contributions have been invaluable and must continue to do so. |
| Q18 |
Should Trust board members always be bound by ‘collective responsibility’? |
| |
Not necessarily, individual accountability is something that should figure. If there is a major problem that keeps occurring then it should be addressed, if there is an individual that is causing or struggling with such, they should be addressed in the singular. |
