Michael O'Shaughnessey |
Who are you? |
1 |
Are you a member of WISA?
If not, why not?
Yes,I'm a member. |
2 |
Why should WISA members vote for you?
Although there is now a wide range of experience and talent on the DT Board, I believe that with my business experience I would have something to offer the DT and AFCW.I am an accountant but most of my experience relates to management, and business growth and development and is where my interest lies.
|
3 |
How much time can you commit each month to DT duties (excluding AFCW activities?).
On average 40hrs per month excluding travelling time from Maidenhead |
4 |
What role would you perform on the DT board?
I would initially like to concentrate on all aspects of fund raising in order to repay the Khosla loan and also to help with development but this would need to be discussed and agreed with the existing members of the DT Board
|
5 |
Would you undertake any additional activities in AFCW?
I'm already an AFCW volunteer and help on match days,so probably not. |
6 |
Did you support the recent share issue enthusiastically, with reservations, or were you unhappy with the idea?
As a member of the FWG I supported the share issue enthusiastically because it raised no cost finance(if no dividend was paid) for the purchase of KM and because even after the issue the DT remained firmly in control. |
7 |
Do you favour a register of interests to record any benefits (financial or otherwise) Trust members gain from their dealings with the Trust or PLC?
Yes but I would suggest only for amounts above £100= |
8 |
What personal qualities (apart from professional skills, and a capacity for hard work) do you have that the DT Board needs?
I believe myself to be a motivator,a team player with an ability to work with others and a good listener.I have a passionate belief in AFCW and the ideals of the Trust
|
9 |
Please list all financial benefits that you have received in the past through dealings with the Trust or Plc.
None.
|
| How could the Trust do better? |
10 |
What do you think of the Trust's performance and achievements so far?
I think the achievements of the Trust over the past 2 years have been outstanding |
11 |
What changes would you propose, if any, to the way the Trust operates?
I think the new board is addressing the concerns I had, namely
that there should be more meetings and better communication.I think it is important to ensure that all volunteers are given a chance to contribute to the development of the Trust and AFCW.This in itself will ,I believe, motivate volunteers to do more for the Trust and the club.
|
12 |
How could the Trust board improve its communication with members?
I think this process has started-see 11 above |
13 |
When considering candidates for board member positions for the Club, what characteristics would you look for?
That they have the ability and experience to advance the aims and success of the DT and AFCW.That the can help to accelerate the repayment of the Khosla loan which is acting as a break on our development .
|
14 |
Should directors of DT subsidiaries (E.g. AFC Plc) be allowed to take up elected posts on the DT Board?
Yes.I don't have a problem with this because all the DT Board is elected and if our members are unhappy with any individual then I'm sure that person would lose his/her position. |
15 |
How do you currently understand the duties and relationship of the DT Board in relation to the AFC Wimbledon PLC, AFC Wimbledon Ltd., and AFC Stadium Ltd. boards?
My understanding is that the DT Board ,acting for the Trust(the controlling shareholder)has appointed the Directors of AFCW with delegated powers.I understand that the Directors are required to report regularly to the DT Board.I believe this arrangement should continue and with a strong DT Board it should not present a problem.
|
| Democracy |
16 |
Should the Trust membership have the final say on the big issues, like where the club has its home ground or selling shares in the club?
Yes |
17 |
Should Trust members have the right to propose motions at the AGM and other general meetings?
Yes but if the motion is important then it should be ratified by a postal vote of all the members |
| What should the Trust do in the future? |
18 |
What ideas do you have for paying off the rest of the debt on the purchase of Kingsmeadow?
In as far as we are allowed (under FSA regulations) we need to encourage support for the forthcoming DT loan scheme. There are a huge number of fund raising ideas and I would like to be part of the group devoted to selecting the best ideas and helping them to fruition.
|
19 |
Are there any situations in which the Trust could, or should, relinquish control of AFCW?
No |
20 |
Do you see Kingsmeadow, The Fans Stadium as a temporary or permanent home for AFC Wimbledon ?
I would be delighted to return to the Wimbledon area but until that happens I am happy to stay at KM |
