Candidate Answers

Dennis Lowndes
Who are you?
1

Are you a member of WISA? If not, why not?

No, I just have not renewed my membership, but I will before the elections.

2

Why should WISA members vote for you?

Because I have fought every attempt to destroy my club over the years from mergers and moves to Selhurst, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Dublin etc., and I will continue to protect member's interests. Its our Club and no individual person or Group should be allowed to dictate our future, its all for one, not one for all.

3

How much time can you commit each month to DT duties (excluding AFCW activities?).

What ever time is required, I will make time within reason.

4

What role would you perform on the DT board?

Any role offered to me:- Chairman, Communication Director, Football in the Community, Director of Football etc.

5

Would you undertake any additional activities in AFCW?

I already do. I manage the Kit and Training ground for all the mens teams.

6

Did you support the recent share issue enthusiastically, with reservations, or were you unhappy with the idea?

I did support the share issue with reservations and my reservations are: The Dons' Trust has the Major share holding and no one person or organisation can come along and take My club from me. We have to protect our future and I urge those who have not bought shares to do so immediately, otherwise we could become vulnerable.

7

Do you favour a register of interests to record any benefits (financial or otherwise) Trust members gain from their dealings with the Trust or PLC?

Yes. We should all be open as it's the members Money that is being spent. I have never taken a penny for what I do and I do not plan to take any in the future, it costs me money and I am prepared to do it for the benefit of the Club.

8

What personal qualities (apart from professional skills, and a capacity for hard work) do you have that the DT Board needs?

I will get things done and protect Our Clubs future in the process. I am open with people and what you see, is what you get. I have no hidden agenda, I want our club to succeed.

9

Please list all financial benefits that you have received in the past through dealings with the Trust or Plc.

None.

How could the Trust do better?
10

What do you think of the Trust's performance and achievements so far?

I believe the Performance so far has been good, but it needs a new injection of blood to take it further quicker.

11

What changes would you propose, if any, to the way the Trust operates?

The trust needs to be managed better, with Board Members being given specific areas to manage with goals to aim for, otherwise they have no direction or purpose.

12

How could the Trust board improve its communication with members?

The trust should have its own fully maintained Web Site for questions to be asked of the individual board members.A family tree of the roles being undertaken by the board members & their sub committees. A Monthly news letter and a programme page should be a must, with a regular surgery at the Fans Stadium on a none match day( 1 st Monday of every month).

13

When considering candidates for board member positions for the Club, what characteristics would you look for?

They must realise they are just custodians of this club and further generations will follow, so they must lay down good foundations for the future.

Members should have a vision for the future of our club, be able to manage others to do their jobs well and on time. All Directors should be smartly dressed (as they are representing the Club ) and happy to talk to all the membership frankly with no hidden agenda.

14

Should directors of DT subsidiaries (E.g. AFC Plc) be allowed to take up elected posts on the DT Board?

No, as I feel this is a conflict of interest.

15

How do you currently understand the duties and relationship of the DT Board in relation to the AFC Wimbledon PLC, AFC Wimbledon Ltd., and AFC Stadium Ltd. boards?

The Dons' Trust are the owners of these bodies and they all should report to the Board. The DT should always be in control, otherwise we could get a split that could lose us the control of our Club.

Democracy
16

Should the Trust membership have the final say on the big issues, like where the club has its home ground or selling shares in the club?

Yes

17

Should Trust members have the right to propose motions at the AGM and other general meetings?

Yes, its their Club and future we are playing with.

What should the Trust do in the future?
18

What ideas do you have for paying off the rest of the debt on the purchase of Kingsmeadow?

I would like to see if we could get the Fans Stadium Sponsored by a Company or Individuals for £1million ( they would get their name put up on the stadium for 10 years ie . The Sony Fans Stadium etc.) or getting 1,000 members donating £100 per year for the next 10 years.

19

Are there any situations in which the Trust could, or should, relinquish control of AFCW?

None what so ever.

20

Do you see Kingsmeadow, The Fans Stadium as a temporary or permanent home for AFC Wimbledon ?

Permanent, as long as we can get planning permission to expand the capacity when we move up the leagues.

We will need a 20,000 Seated Stadium for the Premier League, so hopefully we can redevelop the Fans Stadium.
