2. Emergency Motion on Changes to WISA Constitution
This meeting notes:
• That since the inception of AFC Wimbledon much has changed for the better in terms of fan relations with the Club
• That the majority shareholding of the Dons Trust in the Club has given supporters another avenue for involvement in the Club than via WISA
• That attendance at WISA AGMs and OGMs has decreased significantly as a result of the above issues although membership has remained largely static since 2004.
• Supporters’ general participation in meetings is not a problem limited to WISA within the Wimbledon family, as both the Dons Trust and Club have noted similar issues.
• Changes to the WISA Constitution have been tabled on a number of occasions but not been voted upon due to the lack of a quorum.
This meeting resolves to:
• Mandate the WISA Committee to put forward changes to the constitution that will be put out to a postal ballot of all members.
• Instruct the Committee that members will be entitled to vote in favour or against each individual change proposed
• That no changes may be adopted in the absence of a two-thirds majority of those voting in accordance with the Constitutional provisions
• For changes to be posted on the WISA website and that the ballot period is no less than three weeks from the issue of papers
• That in order to formalise current posts arising from the 2009 AGM, a ballot of all members be held as part of this process
• That the accounts for 2008 and 2009 be approved by ballot
In accordance with the Constitution no other business will be considered at this meeting.
Please note at the completion of this meeting the Open Meeting on the Local Development Framework will commence.
Renewal forms will be available at the meeting for those of you who have not yet had an opportunity to renew your membership for 2009-2010 or for new members who wish to join WISA.
Because of the current industrial action, it has not been possible to notify members by post. For the same reason there will not be the ability to cast a postal vote if you are unable to attend.
