Last Call For Consultation With Merton

Merton Council has issued a last call for people who live and work in the borough to tell it about what should be in its long term plan for the next decade or so.

Merton's web site says:

'What will be the most important planning issues for Merton in the next 10 to 15 years?

The Local Development Framework will set out the planning strategy for the borough until 2020, which will shape what can be built and should be
protected in Merton.

Before we start writing the LDF, we need to know how Merton's workers and residents want the borough to change over the next 15 years.'

This is a golden opportunity for all Dons fans to get the commitment to bring top-class football to the borough included within the blueprint for Merton's future.

At this stage, no specific site for a stadium has been earmarked in the plan.

But if and when AFC Wimbledon is in a position to consider moving back, a commitment by Merton Council to help us return which is enshrined within the
plan could be of crucial importance.

So, WISA calls on all supporters of AFC Wimbledon to get writing and tell Merton - politely - that doing all it can to support the return of AFC Wimbledon to the borough should be a top priority.

You can follow this link to the council web site and then use the feedback form:

Merton Council

It says this will take 15 minutes but that's an exaggeration.

As Merton says, 'you don't have to cover every subject if you don't want to, but the more information the Council receives, the more it will know about
what people want to see in Merton.'

Alternatively, you can write your own letter, or simply print off the draft we've prepared here, and sign it before sending it by post or email.

It should go to:

Plans and Projects,
11th floor, Civic Centre,
London Borough of Merton,
London Road,
Morden SM4 5DX
